"Uttarayan" has two Double Bedded cozy rooms (One extra cot fits in comfortably), a Swiss Cottage Tent which is again Double Bedded (but can easily fit two extra beds) and a Mountain Tent with simplicity and homely comforts. We do not promise luxuries, what we do assure is a cherished sojourn in the lap of nature. Water is available from a nearby spring. Lighting is by Kerosene lamps and Solar power.

We have 2 double bedrooms and Swiss Tent on Twin sharing basis.

  • Parents should remember to carry Childs medicine and milk along with them as they must carry their own medicine.

  • Due to scarcity of water, no washing of Clothes, expect undergarments.

  • Guests should clearly specify at the time of booking- Requirements of Veg or Non-Veg Foods as " Uttarayan" is situated in a remote area and last minute procurement becomes a problem.

  • BREAKFAST AT 8.00 A.M. ; LUNCH   between 1.30 P.M. To 2.30 P.m.; DINNER AT 9.00 P.M.

  • There is no electricity at " Uttarayan", we are on Kerosene Lamp and Solar.

  • Students group of 6 sharing in one room each @ 30% Discount, Bring Letter or college Identity Card Photocopy is a must, Plan M.A.P only.

We at "Uttarayan" serve home cooked food, catering to limited occupancy of not more than 10 persons.

To ease the furrows on your brow, we would like you to share the ambience and experience, the thrill, the joy of being in the lap of nature, this really is " Home-away-from-Home".

Facilities : Hiking, trekking, campfire, nature walks, fishing at Thal, (Ramganga river) and Sherghat (Saryu river) 30 Km away from "Uttarayan" (one way). One can go for fishing in the morning and return in the evening before dinner. Fishing equipments one has to bring. Village post office is 5 minutes walk, or one only has to go to Berinag (5 Km away nice walk or by sharing jeep). STD, ISD facility is available at Tripura Devi.

Primary health centre at Berinag is 5 Km away. The District hospitals at Pithoragarh and Almora are at a distance of 93 Km from "Uttarayan". Doctors are available on request. Visitors are requested to carry their own medicines. Parents to carry milk for children or any other dietary supplements + medicines.
